Rivers Alive and Make a Difference Day

Rivers Alive 2010 is Oct. 23 at the Euharlee in downtown Rockmart from 9 to 12, with lunch following for all volunteers!  This year CRBI (Coosa River Basin Initiative) is partnering with us and will bring canoes! Don't miss this fun and rewarding opportunity to help our community!

Though we don't have any rivers in Polk County, we do have several beautiful creeks, and some of them definitely needed attention!  Check out the Events/Projects page under Make a Difference Day for more info.

Rockmart High School KPB Environmental Club cleaned the beautiful Euharlee Creek and look what they found! (What kind of person throws a shopping cart in the creek???)

Keeping the view beautiful from the Silver Comet Trail!

Goodyear Elementary held their Make a Difference Day that Friday and it rained! So the students cleaned up the INSIDE of the school!

Goodyear Elementary Junior Beta decided to have their Make a Difference Day on year on Friday, Oct. 24.  Well....   it rained cats and dogs!  But they didn't let that discourage them!  They got out and made a difference INSIDE THE BUILDING!  These students dusted shelves and cleaned up inside their school and made a real difference to teachers, staff and students alike! Way to go!
